Some additional logistical details you may find useful!
Wondering what to pack? In early September the Catskills are typically warm during the day (72° average high) and chilly at night (54° average low).
Getting there
When to arrive? Friday afternoon, departing Sunday.
The Catskills are about a 3hr straight shot from JFK or Newark and a 4hr drive from Boston. Having a car is essential for the weekend.
Where to stay
Importantly, there are very few hotel options in the immediate area. Luckily there are a ton of gorgeous Airbnbs, but it’s important to book as early as possible to make sure you get a good option close to Bovina, the town where both dinners will be held. September is a popular time of year in the area.
You will need to book an Airbnb for Friday and Saturday nights. We’ve compiled a list of Airbnbs that we’ve either stayed at or have strong reviews - pick whichever one calls to you! If the Airbnb you're interested in is not yet available to book for next September, we recommend messaging the host to request that they open up the booking window. Often hosts are willing to accommodate.
We strongly recommend staying in the direct area, but if you prefer a nice hotel, we would recommend Inness. We would just caution that it is over an hour drive from where the dinners will be hosted and where we will be meeting folks on Saturday during the day.
Getting Around
A car is necessary to explore the area. Importantly, there are incredibly few ubers/rideshare options, so it will be important for each group to communicate who will be the designated driver following each dinner. We want everyone to have fun, but most importantly, we want everyone to be safe!
